The Boundaries of Waiting
_____By Aranna Hasan Delwar
Under the sky, colorless dreams are scattered,
From the body of time, hot sand trickles down.
I wish to get lost in the depth of your eyes,
Yet my mind's boat runs with a racing heart.
I will vanish into the dark alleys of distance,
Perhaps I will never return to the corner of that path.
This forbidden longing keeps calling,
As if time stands still in the faint stirrings of memory.
Don't call me, I will disappear into the shadows of reality,
Between us, so many wild gusts of wind.
When I think of returning to you,
The crickets' empty call reaches out again.
Will the boundaries of this waiting ever break?
The accumulated resentment on the surface of the heart.
Will our story start again?
Or will everything vanish into the abyss of time?
If we ever meet,
Will the familiar warmth still be there?
Or will everything be washed away in the sea of oblivion,
No more stories, just a lingering shadow.
