Rainy Day Reflections

______By Aranna Hasan Delwar.

On such a rainy day, when clouds descend,

And streets are slick with rain and glossy light,

The world feels calm, as if there's time to spend,

To sit and watch the gray replace the bright.

The drops fall gently on the windowpane,

Their rhythmic dance a soothing lullaby,

The city hums a softer, quieter refrain,

As umbrellas bloom and people hurry by.

Each droplet forms a tiny perfect sphere,

A universe contained within its shell,

Reflecting back the things we hold so dear,

The hopes and dreams that words can never tell.

The raindrops race each other down the glass,

They weave and wander, never quite aligned,

They blur the view of cars that slowly pass,

And hide the world beyond in mist and blind.

On such a rainy day, I find my place,

Inside the warmth where hearth and heart reside,

The glow of lamplight, gentle on my face,

A comfort found when storms rage on outside.

The garden soaks beneath the heavy sky,

Each petal weighed by drops it cannot shed,

The flowers bow, as if in deep reply,

Their vibrant colors slowly turning red.

The puddles form in every lowly space,

Reflecting back the shapes of those who walk,

The echoes of their steps, a hollow trace,

A softened murmur in the distant talk.

On rainy days, the world seems to slow,

The rush of life subdued by nature's hand,

It is a time to let the quiet grow,

To listen, to reflect, to understand.

The trees stand tall, their branches bent with rain,

Each leaf a tiny vessel holding light,

The water trickles down, a soft refrain,

An unseen river flowing through the night.

On such a rainy day, I find you here,

Your presence like the warmth that fills the room,

We sit and talk, our voices calm and clear,

As if the rain dispels all fear and gloom.

We speak of dreams, of places far away,

Of journeys yet to come and stories told,

Of all the beauty that awaits the day,

When rain has passed and skies are clear and gold.

The rain may fall, but so does it bring life,

It nourishes the earth, revives the green,

It washes clean the world of pain and strife,

And leaves behind a landscape fresh and clean.

So on this rainy day, let's take a breath,

Embrace the quiet, let the moment last,

For storms will pass and lead to light from death,

And sunny days will come to us at last.

The rain may come, but we will weather through,

With hearts as strong as ever they have been,

For even when the skies are dark and blue,

We know that sunshine always shines again.

So let the rain fall down and let it be,

A gentle song to soothe the weary soul,

For rainy days can also set us free,

To find our peace, to take back our control.
