"Canopy Cry"

By Aranna Hasan Delwar

In the heart of the Amazon, where emerald canopies sway,

A tale unfolds, echoing nature's dismay.

Climate whispers change through the sacred trees,

A symphony of urgency carried on the breeze.

Majestic lungs of Earth, the Amazon's breath,

In perilous dance with a climate near death.

Rivers winding secrets, stories untold,

Yet a narrative of crisis begins to unfold.

Deforestation's shadow, a relentless foe,

Silent cries of wildlife in the undertow.

Burning echoes paint the skies in despair,

A canvas ablaze with a planet laid bare.

Creatures of the jungle, their refuge declines,

As industries advance, consuming the signs.

Canopy defenders, guardians unsung,

Their struggle etched in vines, a battle begun.

Once a haven of green, a haven so grand,

Now besieged by a warming, relentless hand.

Pledges made in whispers, commitments professed,

Yet actions lag behind, leaving the forest distressed.

Species slipping away, fading from view,

A poignant reminder of what we must do.

The clock ticks louder, time slipping fast,

To preserve the Amazon, a mission steadfast.

Rising temperatures, a feverish plea,

Let harmony reign, restore the canopy.

A call to arms, a global refrain,

To heal the Amazon, and break the chain.

For in this verdant realm, life's intertwined,

A delicate balance in nature defined.

The pulse of the Earth, in each leaf and fern,

A clarion call for the Amazon's return.
